Location: The Cerro Verde Ranch is perfectly situated for those who are seeking

located just 15 miles south of Interstate 40 and only one hour driving time southwest of
Albuquerque, New Mexico.
All services can be found in New Mexico’s largest city of Albuquerque. Alternatively,
one can easily travel west on along State Highway 6 to the town of Los Lunas, which is
approximately 50 miles away. The Los Lunas/Belen area provides all major services,

Access: Access to Cerro Verde Ranch is via a state highway south of the intersection of
Interstate 25 and New Mexico State Highway 6.

Water: The ranch is watered from 3 wells via several storage tanks and pipelines, 2
springs, and over 60 earthen tanks. The headquarters well is about 250’ deep with a ¾ hp pump and pumps about 5gpm. Willie’s Well is about 400’ deep and uses a submersible pump and generator for power. Deep Well is about 650’ deep and pumps about 2gpm. The water storage tanks include 1-1,500 gallon tank, 4-5,000 gallon tanks, 2-10,000 gallon tanks and 2-8,000 gallon tanks. The ranch has 17 miles of 1-1/4” poly pipeline and
13 large (6’ diameter x 18”high) drinking troughs.
Improvements: The 1,683 squarefoot home is a wood frame dwelling with the original mobile home built in about 1980. It has been totally remodeled including an addition that doubled its area. It includes 3 bedrooms and bathrooms. The foundation is concrete and the floor coverings are a mixture of wood and carpet. The exterior is stucco and the roof is pitched with pro-panel metal. Heating is propane. Electricity is provided by an efficient solar panel and battery system with a backup generator. The shop/barn is 1,800 square feet in size. This structure is multi-use; the sides are concrete and the roof is metal. The primary use is as a shop. The livestock pens are 2-7/8” pipe with two rails and steel bull panels. There are 1560 linear feet or corrals, plus 60 linear feet of working alley and loading chute. These pens are used for livestock working facilities and for shipping. Pen design includes seven holding pens, center lane, drinking troughs, and a livestock loading chute. The scales are Fairbanks with 16,000 lbs capacity. There are 25.6 miles of interior fences and 27.8 miles of exterior fences.
Wildlife: The property provides excellent natural habitat for elk, mule deer, pronghorn
antelope, quail, dove, and other small mammals.
Topography: The elevation on the ranch ranges from 6100’ to 7800’. Lower elevations
of the ranch consist of large flood draws, rolling hills, and open meadows. Mesa Gallina,
the highest point on the ranch, lies on the eastern portion of the ranch; extending from the
mesa are several benches with meadows, shallow canyons and rolling hills.
